Talent Identification Assessment for Sports Talents
Grasp the Chance to Unleash Athletic Potential

28 May 2015

The next assessment day of the Talent Identification and Development Programme will be held on 30 May 2015 to identify rowing athletes. Read More

Hong Kong athletes are increasingly performing well in the international sporting arena. These sustained performances rely on a strong base of young sports talents to continue this momentum. With this in mind, the Hong Kong Sports Institute (HKSI) has, for over a decade, been working in partnership with the National Sports Associations (NSA) in order to identify potential athletes through the Talent Identification and Development Programme (TID Programme).

The next assessment day will be held on 30 May 2015 to identify rowing athletes. On the assessment day, participants will be invited to take part in a series of physical fitness tests which may include flexibility, running, jumping and performance on a rowing machine. Upon selection, participants will be invited to join a three-month training programme which helps verify their potentiality to become elite athletes.  Qualified athletes will thereafter undergo professional training at the HKSI which paves their way towards a full-time sports career. Last year, TID programmes were organised for 499 potential young athletes in badminton, rowing, triathlon, windsurfing and wushu, of which 81 were selected for further training at the HKSI.

All local residents holding a Hong Kong Identity Card, aged between 13 and 26 years old, who are interested in rowing and considers themselves physically fit are welcome to attend the assessment.
