HKSI Chairman Congratulates HK Delegation on Winning 10 Gold 1 Silver 6 Bronze Medals at National Games for Persons with Disabilities
Dr Lam Tai-fai SBS JP, Chairman of the HKSI, congratulated the Hong Kong Delegation for capturing 17 medals, including 10 gold 1 silver 6 bronze, at the 11th National Games for Persons with Disabilities, three more gold than that in the last Games two years ago.
The 11th National Games for Persons with Disabilities takes place from 22 to 29 October in Shaanxi Province. A total of 23 athletes, who competed in three sports namely athletics, swimming and table tennis, were sent by Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) and had finished all competitions on 28 October with encouraging results. Dr Lam expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all the Hong Kong athletes for their perseverance and admirable performance at the Games.
Dr Lam said: “I am looking forward to the next National Games to be jointly hosted by Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau in 2025, the HKSI will fully cooperate with the HKSAR Government for the preparations, seize the rare and precious opportunities to show the strength of Hong Kong sports, and further promote and develop Hong Kong sports in a vigorous way.”
