Hong Kong Sports Institute moves back to Fo Tan Site
The Hong Kong Sports Institute (HKSI) headquarters has been moved back to the Fo Tan premises. The address is as follows: Hong Kong Sports Institute Construction works of the HKSI Redevelopment Project commenced at Fo Tan site in March 2009. With the recent completion of the first phase of the Redevelopment Project, the HKSI headquarters has gradually moved from its temporary location at the Wu Kwai Sha Youth Village to Fo Tan. All new facilities of the Redevelopment Project are expected to be completed in late 2012 providing a modern, world-class training environment for elite athletes in Hong Kong. HKSI Chairman Dr Eric Lee thanked the Government, the Sha Tin, Tai Po and Sham Shui Po District Councils, the National Sports Associations, coaches, athletes and staff for their joint support over the past three years. He said, "Without the collaboration of all parties, the reprovisioning and redevelopment of the HKSI could not proceed so smoothly. The existing training facilities, sports science and sports medicine services, and fitness training centre have been upgraded and are in operation. All new facilities will be completed in two years and continuous support from the public and our stakeholders is essential."
