The Changing Role of the Team Physician 1986-2009

The traditional role of a Team Physician that provides event coverage and on-the-field care has changed. Today the Team Physician is additionally involved in education, injury prevention, doping control, rehabilitation, sports pharmacology, research and legislation support. This is a team effort and requires the support of experts from other disciplines.
