Community Relations Officer

The Hong Kong Sports Institute Limited (“HKSI”) is the Government’s designated organisation to provide the high performance training system for eligible sports.  The HKSI’s mission is to provide an environment in which sports talent can be identified, nurtured and developed to pursue excellence in the international sporting arena benchmarked at Major Games results. We are now inviting suitable candidates for the following vacancy:

 

The Job

Reporting to the Assistant Community Relations Manager (ACRM), the Community Relations Officer (CRO) will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Assist in planning and executing all community engagement programmes and outreach projects;
  • Liaise and coordinate with internal teams and external parties such as schools, educational bodies, vendors and other program partners;
  • Prepare digital content required to support all social and online platforms of the community relations programs in charged by the department;
  • To assist the ACRM to prepare statistics and survey reports and analysis to evaluate the effectiveness of programs;
  • Develop community relations opportunities and liaise with existing/potential partners/clients to increase the number of community relations engagements;
  • To assist in organizing quality promotional events to enhance the image of the organization, its professional staff, coaches and athletes;
  • Act as the key window and gatekeeper of marketing projects and strive for high standards in deliverables; and
  • To perform any other appropriate duties as assigned by senior staff.

 

The Requirements

  • A university degree / diploma in Business Administration, Sports & Recreation Management, Communication or a relevant discipline;
  • A minimum of 2 years’ relevant working experience;
  • Hands on experience in event management is essential;
  • Understanding of local sports culture is an advantage;
  • Excellent command of both spoken and written English and Chinese. Ability to speak Putonghua is a definite advantage;
  • Strong organizing, interpersonal skills and highly self-motivated;

  • Meticulous and able to work independently; and
  • Computer Literate
