International Scientific Symposium ¡V
Strength training science for power, endurance, and stability development
|
The Hong Kong Sports Institute (HKSI) is organising a two-day International Scientific Symposium to be held on 9-10 September 2006 in Hong Kong, with the main theme being "Strength training science for power, endurance, and stability development". It is these physical components of an athlete's makeup that determine his/her suitability to participate and excel at a particular sport.
The two-day event will include keynote presentations addressing the various components of this topic, from developing base level training for all athletes to the highest level of power and speed development for individual and team sports alike. Stability, an often heard about but less understood topic, has been included because it makes up part of the basics of training that are the glue in allowing the rest of the body to effectively transfer forces through the body to produce high level efficient and effective movements.
In addition to keynote presentations, all participants will have the opportunity to interact with the speakers during the practical/demonstration sessions and during the expert open forum session, as well as have the chance to exchange views and ideas with local counterparts and those from various overseas regions.
For registration, please visit http://www.hksi.org.hk/iss/.
