- 14th Hongkong Bank Foundation Elite Coaches Seminar
The 14th Hongkong Bank Foundation Elite Coaches Seminar will be held on 21 October at the Hong Kong Sports Institute (HKSI). The seminar theme is "Sporting Talent Identification and Development". For details, please visit the Hong Kong Coaching Committee website http://www.hkcoaching.com/.
- Degree Course in Sport Training to Help Enrich Coaching Knowledge
Organised by the Beijing Sport University and administered by the HKSI, the 2nd graduation ceremony for the Bachelor of Education in Sports Training was held on 23 September at the HKSI. Graduation certificate was presented to a total of 17 students.
- International Scientific Symposium pursuit of high performance athlete development through the incorporation of strength training science
The Symposium, featuring leading experts in the field of strength training science, was held on 9 - 10 September at the HKSI.
- Special Incentive Fund supports athletes to prepare for Major Games
A new Special Incentive Fund was launched to provide cash incentives to HKSI scholarship athletes who won medals at international competitions and qualified for the 2008 Olympic Games.
- Two up-and-coming athletes named the Outstanding Junior Athletes
Cyclist Steven Wong and table tennis player Lee Ho-ching were honoured with the HKSI Outstanding Junior Athlete Awards title for the second quarter of 2006. Certificate of Merit was also presented to ten other athletes as a recognition of their remarkable performances at the ceremony on 23 August.

Hong Kong table tennis player Chiu Chung-hei won a gold medal in the boys' singles (under 12) event at the ITTF World Junior Circuit Taiyuan Junior Open held on 31 August ¡V 4 September in Taiyuan City , China .
This was the second ITTF World Junior Circuit title won by Chiu Chung-hei this year. In May he won the boys' singles (under 15) title at the ITTF World Junior Circuit Spanish Youth Open held in Girona , Spain .

Wells, and published by Saunders Elsevier in 2006, this book states principles of therapeutic exercise and shows how these principles are applied to an ongoing plan of care for patients. This book is accompanied by a DVD which allows readers to practise application of principles. This book is useful for physical therapists. |

Written by Ian Stafford and published by Sports Coach UK in 2005, this book sets out key principles and components, analyses each stage of Long¡Vterm Athlete Development (LTAD) and progression. It provides useful tips for coaching practice, and presents information in tabular or graphic format to help readers to understand LTAD. Coaches will find this book useful. |
