International Scientific Symposium ¡V Sport Psychology Application
|
It has long been acknowledged that sport psychology is critical for athletes at elite level. Sport psychology can help athletes enhance their learning process and motor skills, cope with competitive pressure and stay focused in the competitive environment, increase their motivation as well as build confidence. Moreover, sport psychology also focuses on the social-cultural aspects of athletes including athletes¡¦ career development and transitions, and cultural diversity. This annual event, organised by the Hong Kong Sports Institute (HKSI), brings together international experts to share their knowledge and experience in using psychology to support training and rehabilitation, enhance performance, and assist in talent identification and career transition. The Symposium will be held on 6 - 7 November 2011 (Sunday and Monday) at the HKSI.

On 28 June 2011, the Hong Kong Coaching Committee organised a new mode of Community Education Programme for students under the ¡§New Senior Secondary¡¨ academic structure. The one-hour programme was organised for over 200 students at the Church of Christ in China Tam Lee Lai Fun Memorial Secondary School. The programme provided valuable source of inspiration for students interested in sports coaching. |

A seminar on ¡§Corruption Prevention in Sports Coaching¡¨ was organised by the Hong Kong Coaching Committee on 29 June 2011 at the HKSI. Mr. Kenny Fok, Principal Corruption Prevention Officer of Hong Kong ICAC, explained the relationship between Prevention of Bribery Ordinance and sports activities to over 100 accredited coaches. |

On 19 June, Marco was presented with the ¡§Prince Jewellery & Watch Elite Award¡¨ in recognition of his excellent sporting achievements at a ceremony held at the Sha Tin Racecourse. Other awardees included Cheung Ka-fai, Raymond Lam, Nishizaki Takako, Barney Cheng and Wai Yin Association. |
