- Appointment of Hong Kong Sports Institute (HKSI) Chief Executive
- Experience in nurturing young gifted athletes shared at the International Scientific Symposium
The Symposium organised by the HKSI, featuring leading experts in the field of youth elite athletic development, was held on 15 - 16 March at the HKSI.
- HKSI Outstanding Junior Athlete Awards 4th Quarter 2007 presentation and annual celebration
Rowers Leung Chung-ming, Chu Ka-ming and To Yuk-ting, and table tennis athlete Yeung Chi-ka (Hong Kong Sports Association for the Mentally Handicapped) were honoured with the HKSI Outstanding Junior Athlete Awards title for the 4th quarter of 2007. Certificates of Merit were also presented to athletics athlete Leung Ki-ho, equestrian athlete Lai Jing-man and shooting athlete Li Mei-wun at the ceremony on 12 March.
- The Hongkong Bank Foundation Continuing Coach Education Programme (CCEP)
Xu Zheng-zheng, HKSI Chinese Medicine Coordinator, presented a seminar on common injuries on legs and lower back.
- Coaches nominated for prestigious awards
A total of 120 coaches from National Sports Associations and community sports clubs have been nominated for the annual Hongkong Bank Foundation Coaching Awards. The results will be announced on 20 April.

Coaches nominated for prestigious awards
|
Over 120 nominations were received from National Sports Associations and community sports clubs for the 2007 Hongkong Bank Foundation Coaching Awards. The Awards Scheme is the only territory-wide programme that recognises the contributions of coaches, who are the driving force behind every successful athlete in the sporting arena. Awards in six categories of excellence will be conferred at the Awards Presentation Ceremony to be held on 20 April at the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong. The HKSI quarterly magazine Sports Excellence Volume 2 was published on 4 March as a supplement of Ming Pao Daily. The new issue continues to bring news of local elite sports and the work of the HKSI to the public.
Readers are also welcome to browse the online edition (Chinese only) available in the HKSI website.
