Annual Hongkong Bank Foundation Coaching Awards Presentation successfully held to paid tribute to coaches
A total of 58 coaches were honoured at the 2005 Hongkong Bank Foundation Coaching Awards Presentation Ceremony held on 23 April. More than 200 guests from the local sports community attended the annual event.

Cyclist Steven Wong wins at the 1st BMX Asian Championships

Hong Kong cyclist Steven Wong won a gold medal at the 1st BMX Asian Championships held on 12 May in Shanxi, China. Over 30 athletes from China, Japan, Malaysia, Indonesia and Hong Kong participated in the event. Steven also beat 18 competitors from 7 different provinces at the BMX National Championships held on the same day and won a gold medal.

Fencing team wins 10 medals at the 2006 Asian Junior & Cadet Fencing Championships

The Hong Kong junior fencing team achieved excellent results at the 2006 Asian Junior & Cadet Fencing Championships held on 24 ¡V 30 April in Kuwait, winning 1 gold, 1 silver and 8 bronze medals.

State Sport General Administration of China delegation visits HKSI
|

Accompanied by a representative of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in HKSAR, a three-member delegation led by Jiang Zhixue, Director General, Science and Education Department, General Administration of Sport of China visited the HKSI on 12 May.
The delegation exchanged views with the HKSI management on elite training and coach education. They toured the HKSI, including the sports science laboratories, the athletes' hostel and the elite sports training facilities. |

Agnes Allcock JP, Deputy Secretary for Home Affairs, and Janet Wong, Principal Assistant Secretary (Recreation and Sport) paid a visit to the HKSI on 10 May. They toured the HKSI and met with the HKSI senior management to gain a better understanding of the operations of the Institute. |
